These are a selection of basic chord forms that can be used across a number of genres. ‘Cowboy Chords’ for example are the garden variety open string chord forms you first learn as a beginner.

‘Bar Chords’ are moveable chord shapes and an extension of ‘Cowboy Chords’. ‘Power Chords’ are used for rock, ‘Blues Chords’ obviously for blues and ‘Shell Chords’ are a simple way to get into playing chords for jazz standards.
